Chao Phraya River
River City Bangkok: An Arts and Antiques Quarter on the River
River City leads with art and antiques, not retail. Its own description of itself is the clearest way to understand what it actually is.

Near the Talat Noi end of the Charoen Krung corridor, on the river itself, sits River City Bangkok — a building whose own description of itself is worth taking at face value, because it isn't the shopping-mall framing many visitors expect.

A centre built around art, not shopping
River City describes itself, on its own site, as "a cultured lifestyle centre for arts and antiques" where visitors can explore galleries, see international exhibitions, meet artists, attend talks, watch films, bid at auctions, enjoy live music, or gain an understanding of Thailand's contemporary art scene. That is the venue's own framing, and it's the accurate one — this is a cultural institution first.
A roster of antiques dealers and galleries
The building houses a substantial roster of antiques dealers alongside contemporary and traditional galleries, and its own site currently lists a rotating program of exhibitions. That rotating structure — a continuously refreshed slate of what's on show — is the stable fact here, even though any individual exhibition on the calendar at a given moment is not.
