By air
Bangkok is served by two airports, both operated by Airports of Thailand: Suvarnabhumi (BKK), the main international gateway, and Don Mueang International (DMK), which handles much of the low-cost and regional traffic. Which one you land at is decided by your airline, and they are on opposite sides of the city.
Ground transport from either airport — public taxi, airport limousine, bus, van and car rental — is published by the airport operator and changes. Rather than keep a second copy of that list here, use the operator’s own directory, linked in the sources below.
By BTS
The district sits on the BTS Silom Line. Its river end is Saphan Taksin, between Surasak and Krung Thon Buri — the last station before the line crosses the Chao Phraya. Saphan Taksin is the station the riverside quarter is organised around, and the one the boat interchange sits beside.
By river
Sathorn Pier is the working interchange between the rail line and the water. Both river operators call there: the Chao Phraya Express Boat, whose flag-coded commuter lines terminate at Sathorn, and the separate hop-on-hop-off Chao Phraya Tourist Boat, which names Sathorn as its BTS Saphan Taksin connection.
Currently out of service: Oriental Pier (N1) is listed by the operator as closed for renovation. Plan on Sathorn instead. Checked 16 August 2026.

What is still missing
Walking distance to the station, travel time from either airport and door-to-door directions are all absent because the owner has not confirmed them. They will be added when they are verified, with the date attached — not estimated in the meantime.
